33 Reasons I Love What I Do

Being a live presenter has given me an incredible range of experiences that are rewarding, challenging, and, ultimately, fulfilling. Each day brings something new, and I’m lucky to have a role that constantly energises and inspires me. Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting SAP SuccessFactors #SuccessConnect live from Lisbon—a fantastic experience, an incredible team effort, and a truly magical full-circle moment.

Reflecting on these experiences has reminded me just how much I love what I do. So here are 33 reasons why I love what I do:

  1. It’s incredibly fun and energising. Each project brings a sense of excitement that fuels my day.

  2. Every day is a new learning opportunity. I never stop growing because every experience teaches me something new.

  3. No two days are ever the same. The diversity of topics, people, and places keeps things fresh and dynamic.

  4. It requires hard work, practice, and effort. I love that my job pushes me to work hard and rewards diligence.

  5. I’m constantly challenged to improve. It’s a field that encourages growth, and I’m grateful to never feel stagnant.

  6. Success is a team effort. I get to collaborate with incredible people who make every project more meaningful.

  7. Meeting new people daily keeps things exciting. Whether it’s backstage or on the stage, I get to hear diverse perspectives.

  8. Travelling for work expands my cultural awareness and communication skills. Each trip teaches me so much about people, places, and cultures.

  9. My skills and passions align perfectly. When work feels like a calling, every day becomes a fulfilling experience.

  10. I feel I learn 100 new things with every show. It’s a job that lets me dig deep into subjects, trends, and technologies.

  11. It’s a good way to stay up-to-date with tech trends, reports, and research. I’m always in the know on the latest innovations.

  12. The job requires focus and accountability. Being on point is non-negotiable, and that accountability keeps me sharp.

  13. Developing core skills like communication and time management. I’m constantly honing skills that impact every area of my life.

  14. I get to interact with inspiring people worldwide. These connections constantly expand my horizons.

  15. The chance to wear colourful suits! The visual side of hosting adds an extra element of creativity and fun.

  16. Sharing authentic stories matters in a world of misinformation. I love contributing to authentic, meaningful dialogue.

  17. Every action and activity energises me. There’s a unique thrill in presenting and connecting with live audiences.

  18. Expanding my network with each event. Each show opens doors to more amazing people and opportunities.

  19. The reward is directly tied to risk, effort, and practice. Seeing my hard work translate into success is incredibly fulfilling.

  20. Continuous growth and improvement are part of the journey. This job constantly encourages me to upskill and expand.

  21. Skills from work enrich daily life and vice versa. Hosting has sharpened everything from my everyday routines to my overall resilience!

  22. Recognizing the significance of every puzzle piece to the bigger picture. I see how each role, idea, and connection is vital.

  23. The work humbles me and encourages honesty. Staying grounded and sincere is part of doing this job well.

  24. I wake up ready to conquer each day. Starting each day with purpose is one of the most rewarding feelings.

  25. The post-event thrill keeps me coming back. The energy boost post-show is amazing (even if there’s a bit of a dopamine crash!).

  26. It encourages me to embrace my unique intellect and energy as a USP. I get to bring my true self to each event.

  27. Staying informed on tech, business, finance, and AI. I’m continually exposed to ideas that shape the future.

  28. Validating and encouraging my personality, energy, and experience. It feels wonderful to see my unique skills valued.

  29. The adrenaline of live hosting sharpens my focus. Being in the moment during live shows is both thrilling and humbling.

  30. I’m constantly seeking ways to improve my skills. Every event is a fresh opportunity to learn and grow.

  31. It allows me to make a positive impact on others by sharing knowledge and empowering audiences. Helping others learn is a huge reward.

  32. Strengthens my adaptability in a fast-changing field. I’ve learned to navigate challenges and adapt on the spot.

  33. Every show enhances my creativity, from crafting engaging questions to finding unique ways to connect with my audience and team. Hosting encourages me to bring out my most creative, authentic self.
